Bhaktapur is old town where you can see lots of old monuments, temples, various squares, even some of the houses are well preserved. The old king palace also known as 55 window palace, Nyatapole, Dattatreya square and Pottery square is worth visiting.
Changu Narayan is the oldest temple that situated in Bhaktapur. It is on hill sation. Lord Bishnu is worshipped in this temple.
Hike from Changu Narayan to Nagarkot is uphill. It will take about 5-6 hours. Nagarkot is tourist hub. It is also a view point from where you can see Himalayas. Sunrise and sunset view is nice from here.
We also walk from Nagarkot to Dhulikhel first section of the hike it pretty much flat. Where as other part is down hill. It is quite difficult going down hill. Later will have to climb to Tanchwok. Here we have light lunch and downhill starts and we come cross busy road. Finally we reach Dhulikhel. Dhulikhel is also touristic place. It is famous for sunrise and sunset view and view of Hiamlaya is nice from Dhulikhel.
Walking to Dhulikhel to Panauti is easy walk. First section is little climbing and down hill and mostly flat land. In between Panauti and Dhulikhel is the biggest monastery called Namobuddha. We can visit the monastery and head towards Panuti. Panauti also has lots of historical sites. It has old temples and monuments.
Swayambhu is Sanskrit word, which means self created. Swayambhu stupa is believed to be self created. It is well known to foreigner with the name of Monkey Temple.
Boudhanath is the biggest stupa in Nepal. It is Buddhist stupa and Kasap Buddha’s relics is said inside the stupa. In 1950’s lots of refugee from Tibet came and settled in this area. So, it is called little Tibet.
Pashupatinath is the greatest hindu Temple in the world. It is also called winter home of Lord Shiva. Pashupatinath lies on the bank of Bagmati river and cremation is done here.
