    One of the adventurous and toughest trek is 3 passes trek in Everest region. The trekking of 3 high passes in Everest is about 21 days. After the great Himalayan Trek in Nepal, this trek is also considered the longest trek in Nepal. You can get real experience of high passes and get clear view of Khumbu Region from 3 passes.

    The 3 high passes trek start for west in the Dudh Koshi, it finally goes upto Renjo La Pass and trek goes down to Gokyo valley. We will do the trek to emerald lakes. It is this place with which Gokyo got it name. The trek then take us to Cho La pass and descend down towards Everest Base Camp. We hike to Kalapatthar and on time permission we go to Everest Base camp. We then move towards Kongma La pass and arrives to Imja Lake. We will then walk to wards Lukla where we end our trek. It is adventurous and challenging

    We can do this trek otherway round as well. It is your choice.

    How is Trekking in winter and rainy season at 3 passes?

    It is quite hard to trek on 3 passes in winter as there will be plenty of snow. Rather than winter 3 passes can do done in other season. In winter we have to be well prepared, carry extra equipment and with the snow you might not be able to find the trekking route in winter, so it is difficult to do 3 high of Everest region in winter.

    In winter also you need to be more careful as with the rainfall the trekking trail is muddy and slippery. So, it is quite hard to 3 passes trek in Everest region.

    How is the trek overall beside winter and rainy season?

    This 3 high passes in Everest region is adventurous trek, you will be climbing Renjo La Pass, Cho La Pass and Kongma La Pass. You have to be physically fit and it is most challenging. As this trek is trekking on high altitude there can be breathing problem. The oxygen level is thin in high altitude, so their can be Acute Mountain Sickness. To fully enjoy this trek you have to be well experienced and you shouldn’t have problem of altitude sickness.

    Just look for your name and Supporter Trek number plate at airport. Our airport representative will receive you at airport and transfer you to hotel. Evening briefing about the trek. Final preparation of the trek.

    If the flight is from Kathmandu we will drive to Kathmandu airport to fly to Lukla otherwise we have to wakeup at around 2 pm to drive to Ramachhap/ Manthali airport to fly to Lukla. We will walk to downhill in the begging of our trek. There is check point. We need to check our permit here. We need to cross belly bridge and finally we reach at Phakding. We spend over at tea house at Phakding.

    Today’s we will walk uphill in the forest. Today we will have to cross the suspension bridge. We have to be careful while crossing the bridge and sometime it can blow your cap or hat with the wind. Second leave the way to bypasser. You have to be careful if the mules are coming to cross the bridge in that case you have to leave the way. Almost all the way is going up today. The path is twisting and turning.

    Today we will trek up to Khumjung village via Syangbuche airport and we can stop for tea at Everest view hotel (3,880 m). Today’s path is also going up while reaching Everest view hotel. But going to Khumjung village is a bit descending. Coming back to Lukla is coming down mostly.

    rainy season have destroyed the settlement/hotels of Thame. It is going up hill gradually. As for now we can say the accommodation will be basic. It is renowned place for the Everest climbers.

    Today’s trekking is again ascending. The accommodation are neat and clean. In total we will be trekking for about 6 hours.

    Today and we will also climb Renjo La Pass. The view is amazing. Then we descend to Gokyo.

    We will climb to Gokyo Ri. We will see beautiful sunrise view from here.

    We have option of staying overnight at Gokyo and do the day tour to 5th Lake. Today the trek is on Glacier. The tail is ascending up.

    Today also we ascend up. Today when we ascend to Cho La pass the path is narrow towards the top of Cho-La pass. After we reach Cho-la we descend down.

    Today we go to Lobuche from Zhong La. The trail is slightly going uphill. Not much of steep.

    Today is a long day. Today we will climb to Gorekshep. We keep our luggage and with all the team we do a day tour to Everest Base. Here also the trail is going up while climbing and coming down is downhill mostly.

    Today early morning before the sunrise we climb Kalapattar and come back to Gorakshep and have breakfast and trek down to Lobuche.

    Today from Lobuche we go to cross Kongma-La. It is ascending and after crossing Kongma-La we will descend to Chhukung. Chhukung is base camp of Island Peak.

    We will than descend to Tengboche. Tengboche is small settlement with tea houses.

    Today is also walking downhill and flat land, towards the end of the trek is descending. At Namche we can enjoy walking around as it is second Thamel. There are good bakery, good restaurants and so on…

    Today we will reach Lukla, first section of the trek is descending and other half of trek is ascending. You can take hot water bath and be fresh.

    If the flight to Kathmandu we will be waiting you at Kathmandu airport to welcome you. If flight goes to Ramechhap or Manthali you will have to drive for another 4 hours to reach Kathmandu.

    Free day in Kathmandu and spare day in mountain. In case we plan spending extra night in mountain we can use this day.

    We will drop you to airport before 3 hours of your flight time to fly back home.

    Guide will accompany from Kathmandu. Normally we will be hiring Supporter from Lukla. The Supporter we will be hiring form Lukla will be insuranced and they are well equipped.

    Which is the best month to travel to 3 great pass in Everest Region?

    The best season to visit 3 great pass in Everest region is Autumn and Spring. In winter there will be lots of snows and in rainy season the trekking trail will be too much sleepery.

    How difficult is the trek in terms of altitude?

    The trek is going into high passes. We go slow but still there can be chance where you get altitude sickness. The best to recover from it is to come down as quick as possible. We can also take precaution drinking plenty of fluids ie water, juice, soups and so on. Covering your head is must. As in altitude it can be windy. You have to wear warm Jackets and inner wears. Altitude can start from headache, you can have loose stomach, vomiting, headache and so on. In severe case you can be faint. So, in that case you have to be lifted with Heli.

    What are the clothing you need to Pack in 3 great pass in Everest Region?

    Crampons is must essential, warm gears like a good sleeping bag, down jacket, inner thermal sets, wind proof jackets and pants, woolen cap, woolen socks, gloves, a good trekking boots etc. All the gears should be of good quality.
